ASV Ltd is seeking a Material Control Engineer, based in Portsmouth, who will plan, monitor and control the material process for a large project(s). This will initially be a short-term contract of twelve months duration, with potential for long term employment.

Portchester, Hampshire UK

 Key responsibilities:

  • Establish stakeholder relationships within the project environment.
  • Support the Supply Chain procurement process
  • Support and track the goods receipt system.
  • Allocate unique parts identification and record status.
  • Maintain relationship with the Bill of Materials (BoM)
  • Release materiel to production.
  • Maintain a materiel serialisation and marking system.
  • Develop and maintain a two-way traceability system.
  • Support the Integrated Logistics System (ILS) requirements.
  • Administer and maintain the Certificates of Conformance (CofC) for materiel.
  • Provide input to regular project meetings and reports.

This role may require some UK travel from time to time to engage with the supply chain as necessary.

Requirements:

          Preferred

  • Background in a defence environment – not essential
  • Knowledge of marine mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
  • Strong organisational abilities, oral & written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed, organised, systematic, punctual, and goal-oriented.
  • Familiarity with procurement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Some experience of stores management
  • Personal interest in marine activities
